Save lives, rescue an animal....

Three weeks ago, I was home visiting my mom for mother's day. I had no intentions of bringing another animal home with me, much less a new puppy to house break. After all, I was trying to eliminate my responsibilities this summer as well as any unnecessary expenses. But now none of that really matters.

On Sunday my mom was sitting on the porch of my grandmother's house when she saw a "kitty" dodging traffic on the road. The little animal made its way across the street from its owners home and was crouched down outside the fence. When she got closer, she realized that the "kitty" was actually a Chihuahua puppy. The pup had been extremely starved, and his ears were raw from scratching at the bugs that were on him. As soon as I laid my eyes on him, I had already made the decision that I would not leave him there to be ran over or starved. Looking across the street to his previous home, I saw another dog in the yard, chained to a tree and starved just as he was. NO WAY was I leaving him there.

Trigger has brought me so much happiness just with his presence and personality.. Finding him was definitely luck on both parties part: Trigger escaped a neglectful home: Tim and I wound up with an awesome puppy who we love to death! If you are thinking of getting a pet of any sort, I encourage you all to please, please, considering adopting/rescuing an animal. You will save a life and help end the cycle of neglect.
